I found pajamas Bee needs at Forever 21. Little bumblebee bottoms and then kitty cat pajamas that look super comfy.
Mission: Day Two
Today was pretty much the same as yesterday in terms of service, same waking time, same jobs, and same amount of being tired. We again served over 180 people at lunch, and at breakfast I passed out bags of sandwiches to people, and tried to offer them good wishes as well.
Later though, we got to go sight seeing which is why there are so many pictures above. It was okay, not really as grand as I expected, but I was a little overwhelmed by the number of people. I miss home a lot and I had a breakdown today because of that and stress from not getting enough sleep, getting yelled at, and other general disappointments. We did get to go to the Disney store which I have more pictures of for later, but they were all sold out of frozen merchandise so I didn’t end up getting anything. I guess that’s what online shopping is for. c: (We also went to Grand Central Station, NYC public library where we were given free books, Times Square, Ruby Foos for dinner, the M&M store where my M&M mood is green, and Forever 21.)

Mission: Day One
Waking up at 5:30 today was hard, and it resulted in a couple of power naps in seemingly random places (ie leaning on the organ). But I got to go do a little outreach today and dropped off bread at an immigration center, which had a bunch of people outside it who all smiled when they saw the huge bags and started waving and smiling at us like crazy. Then I helped serve over 180 people at lunch, so many we had to start passing out sandwiches rather than the regular meals we had made. But people were so incredibly kind about everything, and I tried to compliment some of them on their clothing or appearance if I really liked it (this lady had gorgeous eye shadow and cute star earrings).
But by far the most powerful thing that happened today was talking with a man named Carl, who came to the mission 3 months ago after a near death experience with overdosing. His story nearly made me cry, and despite me not being Christian it was incredibly powerful to hear. When I get off mobile I’ll type it up, it’s worth hearing for sure.
